Wow, this is my 200th post in mylifeinwater. Wasn’t sure what to go with on this landmark event… but, in the end I decided to post a public-service announcement.
Congratulations on reaching the big 200 Charl! And what a way to do it with such a good info graphic. We need to accelerate our recycling efforts as surfers and source alternative solutions or the seas are going to be dead in a generation. I know Rip Curl are making a big effort on recycling neoprene but more of the big brands need to follow suit and faster.
Other brands such as Matuse with their Geoprene Technology are also bringing out alternative options such as limestone based materials for their wetsuits… but as is often the case, at this point the alternatives to neoprene for instance are still prohibitive for most of us from a cost perspective.
