Came across this delightful little video recently. Not being from the UK I didn’t really know who Alice Roberts is, but turns out she’s a really interesting lady; Medical Doctor, Biological Anthropologist and TV Presenter.
More to the point, she presents the video (below) exploring the ‘Wild Swimming’ lifestyle said to be gaining interest across the UK and Internationally. The feature is inspired by Roger Deakin’s book Waterlog: A Swimmer’s Journey through Britain. I’ve not had the opportunity to read it yet, but based on the snippets Roberts reads throughout, it sounds prosaic and beautifully written, so has been added to my Reading List.
The video runs for 59 Minutes, but if you’re someone who is interested in recreational swimming, exploring nature and a bit of self-discovery, this should resonate with you.
Enjoy!
